- Dominique Aegerter (Kiefer Racing) won for the second time in his Grand Prix career at the San Marino GP.
- Tom Lüthi (CarXpert Interwetten) crossed the line in second to make the first Swiss 1–2 in Grand Prix racing in any of the solo classes, and Switzerland are the 14th nation overall to do so. This is the first time there were two Swiss riders on the podium since Bruno Kneubühler (2nd) and Hans Müller (3rd) at Silverstone 1983 (125cc).
- Lüthi’s podium finish at Misano was his 47th in the intermediate category, one more than Jim Redman. He is now the rider with the fifth highest number of podium finishes in 250cc/Moto2™.
- Hafizh Syahrin (Petronas Raceline Malaysia) completed the podium at the San Marino GP for the second podium finish of his career, along with third at Sepang back in 2012, which was also wet.
- Álex Márquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) was second last year at Alcañiz, which was his first podium finish in the Moto2™ class. He also finished on the podium twice in the Moto3™ class in Aragón.
- Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) crashed while leading the race at Misano, as in Jerez this year. He was third last season in MotorLand Aragón, beaten by his teammate Márquez by just 0.032s.
- Morbidelli leads the Championship with nine points over his closest rival Tom Lüthi. This is the third lowest margin after the opening thirteen races in the Moto2™ class, after 2011 (6) and 2016 (3).
- None of the riders currently competing in the Moto2™ class have won an intermediate class Grand Prix at MotorLand Aragón.
- Along with Franco Morbidelli and Álex Márquez last year, Simone Corsi (Speed Up Racing - 2011) is the only rider on the current grid to have stood on the podium at Aragón in the Moto2™ class.
- Except in 2012, all riders who qualified on pole position have won the Moto2™ race at Aragón.
