Oliveira: “All weekend I felt strong”

Pole or not pole? That was the question! Pole position and a podium for the Portuguese rider on Sunday

Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Ajo) had a great weekend at Aragon, turning pole position into a podium finish and scoring another incredible haul of points on the new-for-2017 KTM chassis. The Portuguese rider says he was missing something at the start, but was back in the groove soon after and took yet another podium finish by the flag - the 150th for the Red Bull KTM Ajo team.

Saturday had been filled with a bit more drama for the KTM rider, as he qualified on pole but then had his lap deleted for exceeding track limits – but then, it was re-instated and he had to make the long walk back to parc ferme from the garage…

Miguel Oliveira, P3: “It was a really nice, really solid weekend. This result for us to fight in the podium positions was really important after not scoring in Misano. All weekend I felt strong but at the beginning of the race I lost some time there and couldn’t regain what I’d lost, but it was a really positive weekend for us.

“There are three racetracks that I like a lot and my results there are quite good, so I’m hoping to focus on myself and have a good weekend in Motegi. For sure I feel confident and we’ll work hard for it.”
