So it's the end of the season once again (somehow!) and it's been another stonking year of racing. But before the #FinalShowdown turned a wheel, it was time for the final Thursday Press Conference of 2017 - and the final Thursday Press Conference for Nick Harris, the voice of MotoGP™.
It was a special Thursday press conference as riders & commentators said thank you & goodbye to 'The Voice' of #MotoGP - @NickHarrisMedia ???? pic.twitter.com/yulCb3lkUC
— MotoGP™???? (@MotoGP) 9 November 2017
Won't be the same watching @MotoGP next season. Good luck and enjoy you're retirement @NickHarrisMedia https://t.co/f5Lr0tQmJf
— Ricky Carmichael (@RickyCarmichael) 9 November 2017
The season finale was also the final race for Dylan Gray (we thought his first name was 'Down in Pit Lane' too), and even for the Championship's statistician Martin Raines!
Thank you everyone for the wonderful comments. I will miss Pit Lane a lot. All the people involved, as well as the fans, are so amazing, so kind, and the reason it is the incredible spectacle it is! New opportunities call, but I'll be back...just next time watching with a beer!

After 22yrs my time compiling official MotoGP stats has ended. Time someone else had a go. Will miss my great friends of the MotoGP family! pic.twitter.com/nnJz47j4r8

Anyway, back to the beginning a bit...and it was a gorgeous start.
Here we are!

Ready for the Gran Finale of @MotoGP!#ValenciaGP @pramacracing pic.twitter.com/PexlVWjKnh
...um, for most? Aspar were a bit stressed.

But Simon Crafar didn't let that get in the way of his relaxation.
Suncream, sand and loads of people. Kind of like being at the beach only better. pic.twitter.com/wcPdMEgU6T

And the mood was pretty relaxed for the protagonists too... "Stare at each other, look serious" were more difficult directions to follow than expected in the photoshoot...

Then we went racing. And this guy took his first win, after being on pole half the year! Congratulations, Mr Martin!

It was a truly dramatic final race of the year. And 'DesmoDovi' gave it everything, but it wasn't to be. Marquez wrote a little more history!

It was a deservedly incredible reception for runner up Dovizioso when he headed back to the box, though. And as Cervera applauded the Italian on the Italian bike for his efforts, so do we all - it was an awesome campaign.
Ci hai fatto sognare fino alla fine! Grazie @AndreaDovizioso / You made us dream until the very end! Thanks Andrea! ???????????????????????????????????????? #ValenciaGP #ForzaDucati #DucatiTeam @MotoGP pic.twitter.com/M5RFjJndfF

Then it was time to welcome in the start of 2018 already - and Scott Redding is one of those making quite a switch for next season - as Jack Miller arrives at Pramac.
@pramacracing thanks to this team for 2 great years, we kept pushing through the thick and thin. Now time to move on to new things !!! pic.twitter.com/cyyKFMnOhZ
— ReddingPower (@Reddingpower) 12 November 2017
Ready @jackmilleraus!
— Pramac Racing MotoGP (@pramacracing) 13 November 2017
And you?
????????????#ValenciaGP @MotoGP @pramacracing pic.twitter.com/UbdvaG68mF

— Team EG 0,0 Marc VDS (@TeamEG00MarcVDS) 12 November 2017
And then, the end was near...and so we faced the final curtain. But my oh my what a year, and we're sure 2018 will give us more of the same. Because, we're fairly sure we can say, this is a golden era - or maybe THE golden era. So we'll see you on the flipside...over and out.
We said 2016 would take some beating but 2017 DELIVERED an absolute classic #MotoGP season!
