Friday was an extremely positive Friday for Alma Pramac Racing at Phillip Island as Danilo Petrucci and home hero Jack Miller start the Michelin® Australian Motorcycle GP in good form.
Petrucci: "I have to compensate by riding style, not setup"
‘Petrux’ found a great feeling with his Desmosedici machine from the word go, confirmed by finishing Day 1 in Australia P2 on the combined timesheets:
“I’m very happy. I did a good lap even though I used Viñales as a reference. I feel like I have a great feeling with the bike. I made a reset compared to Japan where I made some mistakes. With the new tyres I am very fast but in the race, it will be essential to manage the consumption”.
Meanwhile, Miller greets his home fans with a superb FP1, in which he finished P2, before ending a solid P8 on the combined times:
Michelin Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix: MotoGP™ FP2
“I am satisfied with the work we have done even though the result is not the best. In the time attack of FP2, the tyres didn’t work at their best. We have a few things to fix on the bike but I’m still confident. Tomorrow we will have to improve our speed.”
