Di Meglio and EG 0,0 Marc VDS team up for 2019 MotoE™ season

2008 125 World Champion and former MotoGP™ rider will form part of the inaugural 18-rider grid in the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup

EG 0,0 Marc VDS have announced that 2008 125 World Champion Mike Di Meglio will compete for them in the inaugural FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup campaign, which starts in 2019.

Di Meglio also competed in the 250 and MotoGP™ classes, and will now go for glory on an Energica Ego Corsa next season with testing beginning on Friday 23rd November in Jerez.

Mike Di Meglio: “It is an honour for me to join the Marc VDS Racing team and I am very proud to be part of a project like this. I know the potential of this team because it has always shown its strength and fought for victory in all the categories in which they have competed. The FIM Enel MotoE World Cup is a new challenge and it will be important to have a great team behind me, that is exactly what I have. It will be very interesting to see how this new championship evolves because all the riders will have the same machine. I am looking forward to this new challenge and I hope it brings new successes to the Marc VDS team like those that have had in the past in MotoGP™ and Moto2™.

Marc Van der Straten: “It is a pleasure to announce the confirmation of Mike Di Meglio as our rider for the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup. We have been observing its evolution for some time and, when we decided to participate in MotoE™ as an alternative to Moto2™ and MotoGP™, the last category we will not be in next year, we thought that Mike was a great option to ride the electric motorcycle. I think he has a great experience and retains a great desire to win. We contacted him and it was great that he agreed to join our new project. We will start a new adventure together that I think will be very constructive.”
