Ahead of the official Moto2™ and Moto3™ Jerez Test next week, 22 intermediate and lightweight class riders were at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto for two days of private testing.
In the Moto2™ class, it was Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) who topped the timesheets. His 1:41.578 was 0.165 quicker than second fastest Luca Marini (SKY Racing Team VR46), with Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) completing the top three – 0.318 off Lowes’ time.

Leading the Moto3™ riders at the end of the two days was Gabriel Rodrigo (Kommerling Gresini Moto3) after the Argentine set a fastest lap time of 1:47.140. P2 was rookie Sergio Garcia (Estrella Galicia 0,0), 0.255 off Rodrigo, with Celestino Vietti (SKY Racing Team VR46) rounding out the top three – 0.469 splitting the Italian from Rodrigo’s Honda.
Aforementioned, the Moto2™ and Moto3™ grid will complete a three-day official Jerez Test on the 20th, 21st and 22nd February, before heading to Qatar for their final preseason test between 1-3 March.
