Granado edges Garzo in MotoE™ simulation race

17 of the 18 MotoE™ riders took part in a seven-lap race simulation at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Wednesday morning

Avintia Esponsorama Racing Eric Granado took ‘victory’ in the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup race simulation at the official Valencia Test on Wednesday morning, the Brazilian edging out E-Pole man Hector Garzo (Tech 3 E-Racing) in a last lap battle, with Niki Tuuli (Ajo MotoE) completing the first ever MotoE™ ‘podium’.

The top three were split by just under two seconds over the seven laps as we enjoyed a first taste of what a MotoE™ race will look like. Young guns Granado, Garzo and Tuuli were able to beat the vast experience of 2011 125cc World Champion Nicolas Terol (Openbank Angel Nieto Team), the Spaniard crossing the line fourth less than a second from the ‘podium’, with Matteo Ferrari (Trentino Gresini MotoE) rounding out the top five.

The riders will continue to get more laps on their Energica Ego Corsa’s on Wednesday before the MotoE™ paddock pack up and get ready for the start of the season at the Sachsenring.
