Aside from providing a tense three-player fight for the ultimate honours, the 2019 MotoGP™ eSport Championship has seen gamers in the Global Series representing each team in the premier class of motorcycle racing.
Twelve players from six countries are taking part in the three-round Global Series, which dictates who will lift the 2019 MotoGP™ eSport crown. Held across three different locations of the actual MotoGP™ series, finalists have had the unique chance to interact and learn from the MotoGP™ Riders and Teams.
It means the current MotoGP eSport Championship leader and Ducati Team representative AndrewZh had the chance to meet up with full-time riders Andrea Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci.
Championship challenger adrianDP26 and his brother Cristianmm17 were invited into Team Suzuki ECSTAR hospitality and box to meet riders Alex Rins and Joan Mir, who showed an interest in his skills and compared racing lines and braking markers.
Avintia Ducati’s MrFtw had the chance to meet 2014 Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat to discuss the different aspects of competing at the highest level.
Pramac Ducati’s Mereja met up with reigning Moto2 World Champion Francesco Bagnaia, and the pair played the MotoGP 19 game together, with Pecco asking the Brazilian for some tips.
Juann_nh, competing for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, met factory riders Pol Espargaro and Johann Zarco before watching the free practice sessions from the KTM box and pit lane.
Moe, the Indonesian, playing in LCR Honda colours, was welcomed into the fold by former grand prix race winner and team boss Lucio Cecchinello before having the chance to meet rider Cal Crutchlow.
Wimp, the Belgian finalist, is competing for Red Bull KTM Tech 3 was welcomed into Hervé Poncharal’s highly successful set-up, where he met riders Miguel Oliveira and Hafizh Syahrin.
Aprilia Racing Team Gresini’s Rllorca26 was welcomed into the fold in an official presentation, where he met rider and MotoGP podium finisher Aleix Espargaro. Together the pair shared some gaming experiences.
Trastevere73 was presented as Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s official rider at the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez in May, where he received the full backing of high-profile names Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales across the weekend.
All of which shows the interest and support shown by MotoGP riders and teams alike for the 2019 MotoGP™ eSport Championship and its twelve finalists.
