Malaysian GP: Oliveira fit, Rabat sits out

Portuguese rider will take part in proceedings at Sepang after his Phillip Island crash, but the Spaniard has chosen to miss the weekend

After his huge Turn 1 Phillip Island crash that ruled him out of Sunday’s race in Australia, Red Bull KTM Tech 3’s Miguel Oliveira has been passed fit to ride at the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix this weekend.

Elsewhere, after he suffered a contusion to the wrist and hand during training between the races in Thailand and Japan, Tito Rabat (Reale Avintia Racing) will not take part in Malaysia. Although not unfit, Rabat doesn’t feel 100% as he and the team have taken the decision to rest ahead of the final round at Valencia.

Action for the MotoGP™ riders begins at 10:50 local time (GMT+8) on Friday morning at the Sepang International Circuit – tune in!
