Buriram tops 2019 spectator billing

2018 Grand Prix of the year had the most fans visit in 2019, but what were the other best-attended GPs?

2,863,113: that’s how many of you came to at least one of the 19 Grands Prix in 2019, but it was the second-ever Thai Grand Prix that took top billing in terms of the number of spectators throughout the weekend.

Buriram, after claiming 2018 Grand Prix of the season, again hosted a spectacular weekend of MotoGP™ action that saw 226,655 fans descend to see Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) claim his eighth World Championship, compared to 222,535 in 2018. Le Mans welcomed 206,323 supporters this year, 294 less than 2018, with the Sachsenring getting over 200,000 fans through the gate for the first time since 2016 – 201,162 visited the German GP this season.

In terms of the top three race day attendances, three races surpassed the 100,000 mark. Assen saw 105,000 come and watch Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) pick up his first win of the season, while Le Mans (104,020) and Sepang (103,850) also had huge figures. And next year, we look set to welcome even more fans as Finland gets ready to host Round 11 of the 2020 season.
