How are MotoGP™ riders filling their time?

Take a look at what the stars of the premier class are doing during the extended winter break

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, MotoGP™ riders have more time on their hands than they had expected ahead of the opening round of the 2020 World Championship. The vast majority of the grid sat down over the weekend to watch Moto2™ and Moto3™ put on a show in Qatar but what else have they been up to?

Repsol Honda Team’s Marc and Alex Marquez have, like many, been out enjoying some motocross action. Marc is continuing his recovery from shoulder surgery but the pair also found time to catch some Moto2™ action from Qatar.

Another ride to have been getting some motocross training is Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Maverick Viñales. Top Gun was putting his number 12 plated Yamaha through some tough work just outside of Barcelona.

While the Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders in VR46 Riders Academy were at the Losail International Circuit, Valentino Rossi (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP), Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing) had the Ranch to themselves.

You can also take an aerial lap of the Ranch thanks to The Doctor’s Instagram post that showed Franky, Pecco, former Moto2™ race winner Mattia Pasini and himself pushing hard.

Reale Avinita Racing’s Tito Rabat was joined by Ecstar Suzuki Team’s Joan Mir for some two-wheeled action, as the pair battled it out on minibikes.

Not on two wheels was Petronas Yamaha SRT’s Fabio Quartararo who posted to show he was out jogging in preparation for the start of his second year on the MotoGP™ grid.

And finally, another man to have been out on his motocross, and even getting some fairly impressive air, was Ducati Team’s Danilo Petrucci.
