Crutchlow: "Miller has the talent to beat Marc"

Can new factory Ducati recruit Jack Miller challenge Marc Marquez to a MotoGP™ title? Cal Crutchlow certainly thinks so...

Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) and new Ducati Team recruit Jack Miller are known for being good mates off track and the former spoke highly of the Australian at the end of the 2019 season, saying he believes Miller is one of the only guys that can beat Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) over a season.

Chatting on a video the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix Facebook page published after Ducati's announcement, Crutchlow affirmed: “Jack Miller is one of the only guys here that has the talent to beat Marc over a season. Talent on a motorcycle, he definitely has it and I believe he has as much as anyone in this Championship, and I see him as the guy who can take the step up and take the fight to Marc over the next few years.

“He’s the right rider to do it I believe, and I think he can – when I retire and guide him. But that’s up to him, whether he wants me to do that for him or not,” joked the British rider, who stood on the rostrum with Miller at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix – behind a certain Marc Marquez.

“It’s a great thing for Australia, they haven’t had anybody on the podium since Casey being on the podium regularly and now Jack is on the podium regularly. He managed to get one at his home Grand Prix, it’s an incredible achievement in any rider’s career. Jack’s young enough to appreciate it and I think continue it as well.”

Both Miller and Crutchlow will be hoping they can challenge for podiums once the 2020 season kicks off, before the Australian begins his new red venture in 2021. Will Miller be Marc Marquez’ main challenger? It’s a question everyone is eager to learn the answer to.
