Granado top again as MotoE™ complete Friday’s action

Some E-Pole simulations took place in FP2 as the electric class got their 2020 season underway at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto

Despite only completing two laps in FP2 and suffering a crash at Turn 2, Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) took P1 again as the Brazilian took charge of the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup timesheets on Day 1. Only four riders improved in FP2 at the Gran Premio Red Bull de España, with Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) and Niccolo Canepa (LCR E-Team) keeping their positions in the top three thanks to their FP1 efforts.

Unfortunately for Alessandro Zaccone (Trentino Gresini MotoE), the rookie has decided to sit out the weekend's action after feeling the effects of his testing crash on Wednesday. Elsewhere, numerous riders took the opportunity to do an E-Pole simulation on Friday afternoon in FP2 – you can watch that live from 16:05 local time (GMT+2).

Granado and fourth on the timesheets Xavier Simeon (LCR E-Team) managed to go slightly better in FP2, with Maria Herrera (Openbank Aspar Team) and rookie Jakub Kornfeil (WithU Motorsport) also going quicker despite to scorching temperatures. However, this didn't change the combined times from FP1 which you can see below, with the Energica Ego Corsa riders getting another chance to get a better feeling with FP3 on Saturday. Then, it'll be E-Pole time which always provides excitement.

Top 10 combined:
1. Eric Granado (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) – 1:48.558
2. Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) + 0.130

4. Xavier Simeon (LCR E-Team) + 0.294
