Zarco undergoes successful operation

The Frenchman will undergo a medical exam on Thursday to see if he can compete in the inaugural Grand Prix of Styria

After discovering he’d suffered a small scaphoid fracture in the aftermath of the terrifying incident during the myWorld Austrian Grand Prix, Johann Zarco (Esponsorama Racing) has undergone successful surgery.

The operation was performed on Wednesday in Italy, where Zarco had a screw fitted into his wrist. The Frenchman took to social media to let everyone know he was ok.

Zarco will be heading back to the Red Bull Ring on Thursday to undergo a medical exam, to see if he is fit enough to ride at this weekend’s BMW M Grand Prix of Styria. Thursday also sees Zarco meet with the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards to discuss Sunday’s crash.
