FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup: Race 2 grid changes

From now on, the grid for the second MotoE™ race at a double-header event will be based on the finishing positions in Race 1

The FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup has its first double-header race weekend of the season at the Gran Premio TISSOT dell’Emilia Romagna e della Riviera di Rimini, and the event also marks the first of a new era in MotoE™.

Previously, the E-Pole qualifying session – in which every rider can complete only one single fast lap – decided the grid for both Race 1 and Race 2. From now on, the grid for the second MotoE™ race at a double-header event will be based on the finishing positions in Race 1.

E-Pole will remain an exciting and unique session, with plenty on the line as riders fight it out for Race 1 grid positions. The new format for the Race 2 grid will simply decrease the risk of a rider losing out twice in one weekend if they suffer a problem in E-Pole, as well as rewarding those who have achieved a good result in Race 1. In addition, it will create two even more distinct races at each double-header event, adding to the spectacle for riders and fans alike.

Riders who are not classified in Race 1 will line up at the back of the Race 2 grid in the order in which they were classified in E-Pole.
