Bradl to continue Marc Marquez stand-in duties for Valencia

The German rider and Alex Marquez will don the Repsol Honda Team colours at the first of two races in Valencia - the Gran Premio de Europa

Repsol Honda Team have confirmed that test rider Stefan Bradl will continue to replace eight-time World Champion Marc Marquez at the Gran Premio de Europa, as the Spaniard continues his recovery from injury.

Bradl – who finished P8 in Le Mans and ahead of title contenders Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) in Aragon and Teruel respectively – has been standing in for the injured number 93 since the Czech GP. And ahead of the first of three triple-headers that will see a dramatic 2020 campaign draw to a close, Bradl is once again replacing Marc Marquez to partner reigning Moto2™ World Champion Alex Marquez in the factory Honda camp.

In addition, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo holds fond memories for Bradl who took the 2011 Moto2™ World Championship title at the Spanish venue. His last MotoGP™ appearance in 2018 there, riding the LCR Honda, saw Bradl finish a solid ninth in the race.

Stefan Bradl: “I am very pleased that the Repsol Honda Team have continued to put their faith in me and return to ride the RC213V again. We have done some testing at Valencia in the past and in Aragon we made a good step with the bike, I think we can have a good weekend here and again battle with riders further ahead as we did in Aragon and Le Mans as well. Always at around this time of the year in Valencia the temperature, especially in the morning, can be critical so we will have to pay attention to this.”
