Vietti to move up to Moto2™ and partner Bezzecchi in 2021

The young Italian will make the move up from Moto3™ and will partner the Moto2™ title contender next season

SKY Racing Team VR46 has confirmed their 2021 Moto2™ line-up with Moto3™ front-runner Celestino Vietti joining Marco Bezzecchi in the squad. The young Italian will take the place of Luca Marini, who has been confirmed as making the jump to MotoGP™ in 2021 with the Esponsorama Racing concern.

Currently fourth in the standings and with five podiums to his name so far this season, including a debut victory at the Grand Prix of Styria, Bezzecchi will have his sights solely on winning the intermediate class crown next year. He will share the box with rookie Vietti. The 19-year-old continues his progression with the team after starting in FIM CEV Repsol before then moving to the lightweight class in 2018.

Celestino Vietti: "Competing in Moto2 with the Sky Racing Team VR46 is a great opportunity. I am very happy to share another key moment in my career with this Team. Marco is a lifelong friend, it will be nice to work together, and Luca is an example to follow."

Marco Bezzecchi: "I am very happy for Luca, he has proven to be ready for MotoGP. I am also happy with my new teammate because Celestino is my lifelong friend. Since I joined the Sky Racing Team VR46, I have regained the confidence I was hoping for, I'm sure we will have fun in 2021."
