Outpouring of congratulations flood in for Joan Mir

Many famous personalities sent messages to the new MotoGP™ King following his 2020 heroics

From the moment he crossed Circuit Ricardo Tormo finish line on Sunday afternoon, messages of congratulation have been flooding in for 2020 MotoGP™ World Champion Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar).

Among them have been some of our very own stars. Maverick Viñales, Alex Marquez, Tito Rabat, Marc Marquez, Alex Rins, Jorge Martin, Dani Pedrosa, Alvaro Bautista, Alex Criville, Kevin Schwantz and Jorge Lorenzo, the fellow Mallorca-born World Champion sharing his thoughts via a special Press Conference call. Spanish sports stars such as Carlos Sainz, Pau Gasol and Dani Sordo also posted their congratulations for their compatriot.

Rival MotoGP™ teams and other Championships like our friends on four wheels, Formula 1, showed their admiration for Mir. And the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, posted a little message to the number 36 too.

And then there are those who congratulated Mir by commenting on his own posts, or replying to a MotoGP™ post: from Takaaki Nakagami to Carlos Sainz Jr, Manuel Poggiali, Max Biaggi, Alex Barros, Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi, Randy Mamola or even Xavier Siméon, Eric Granado, Dominique Aegerter, Sandro Cortese, Takahisha Fujinami, Laia Sanz and Toni Bou.

Aprilia’s Aleix Espargaro and tennis legend Rafael Nadal posted nice messages on their Instagram stories, a nice doffing of the cap to Suzuki’s first World Champion in 20 years.
