LCR Honda Castrol's Cal Crutchlow has booked his place in Q2 at the Grande Prémio MEO de Portugal ahead of his final MotoGP™ appearance as a full-time rider. The Briton will be joined in the fight for pole position by Franco Morbidelli (Petronas Yamaha SRT) who ended up second.

Winner last time out in Valencia, Morbidelli, was forced to endure a nervous wait over whether he'd be in Q2 with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's coming agonisingly close to stealing away the final place inside the top two with his last lap of the session.
The major surprise of the session, though, was seeing the newly crowned MotoGP™ World Champion, Team Suzuki Ecstar's Joan Mir, equal his career-worst premier class qualifying down in 20th place.
