Torino FC celebrate Suzuki and Mir with commemorative jersey

The Serie A side paid tribute to the 2020 MotoGP™ World Champion in their match against Sampdoria at the weekend

They may not be at the top of Italian football league Serie A but Torino F.C. are certainly dressed like winners as they were spotted wearing the mark of Champions in their game against Sampdoria at the weekend. In a nod to their main sponsors, ‘La Granata’ sported their traditional colours with some extra features paying tribute to Joan Mir’s sensational MotoGP™ World Championship victory.

The sentence “2020 MotoGP™ Champion” was emblazoned underneath the iconic silver Suzuki ‘S’ which was surrounded by a laurel wreath, while a blue and silver trim were added to the sleeves in reference to the traditional colours of the Hamamatsu factory.

Suzuki have been the main sponsor of Torino since 2015, and the factory are also celebrating their centenary this year as well as 60 years in MotoGP™. In a statement announcing the jersey, the Italian side said;

“Il Toro is a team known around the world for its history steeped in performance, talent, passion and is loved for the tenacity with which it faces challenges. Suzuki shares the effort, the search for results and above all the competitive spirit with the Bull, showing every day the same determination to achieve the goals set, respecting the rules and the rivals.”

"Over the decades, the two realities have been passionately promoted, they have grown and achieved countless successes in their respective fields, showing a strong personality and combining the ability to evolve and continuity with the past.”
