Fit again Quartararo confirms he had Covid-19 in December

The factory Yamaha rider posted on social media that he was back to "top level" fitness after contracting Covid-19 at the end of 2020

New Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP recruit Fabio Quartararo has confirmed via social media that he contracted Covid-19 in December 2020, with the Frenchman adding that he's back to “top level” fitness ahead of the upcoming Qatar Test.

Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) and Valentino Rossi (Petronas Yamaha SRT) are the only other current MotoGP™ riders to have been known to catch Covid-19, with all three thankfully at peak fitness heading into the 2021 campaign.

Quartararo will join teammate Maverick Viñales in unveiling factory Yamaha’s 2021 colours in the team’s launch on the 15th of February, where both have heavily hinted that “something new” is coming. Then, the 2019 Rookie of the Year and three-time premier class race winner will debut as a factory Yamaha rider in March’s Qatar Test in less than a month’s time.
