Marc Marquez makes his return to riding after eight months

The Repsol Honda rider has taken a huge step towards making his MotoGP™ return by jumping on a bike for the first time since July last year

Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez has made his biggest step yet towards a MotoGP™ return after riding a bike for the first time since the Andalucia Grand Prix in July of last year. The eight-time World Champion was able to ride a minimoto machine over the weekend after getting the doctor's approval.

Last week, the Spaniard signalled his intent to ride in Qatar at either of the opening two rounds of 2021 and that remarkable return now appears to be one step closer after finally making his motorcycle return.

In a post on Instagram, Marquez said: "After eight months and after the Doctors approval in the last check-up, I finally felt this feeling again although it was with a mini moto!"

Stay tuned to motogp.com over the next week or so, to be the first to know if the former MotoGP™ King will be making his return at the opening round of the year.
