Seven Moto3™ riders will start Sunday's TISSOT Grand Prix of Doha from pitlane after being charged with irresponsible riding during Friday's FP2 session.
Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Romano Fenati (Sterilgarda Max Racing Team), Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing), Sergio Garcia (GASGAS Gaviota Aspar Team), Stefano Nepa (BOE Owlride), Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Tech 3) and Riccardo Rossi (BOE Owlride) were all handed penalties after being adjudged to have been "riding slow and causing a disturbance between Turns 15 and 16".
Why do Moto3™ riders engage in "dangerous" tactics?
Rookie sensation Acosta took a debut podium in the opening round of 2021 last time out, with Garcia also challenging in the lead group for some time. Whilst both Fenati and Foggia were Grand Prix winners last season.
The seven riders will all partake in qualifying later this afternoon but, regardless of their grid slots, will have to start from pitlane for Sunday's race.
