Rabat to replace injured Martin in Jerez

The Doha GP podium finisher will have surgery on Wednesday afternoon, former MotoGP™ rider Rabat will link up with Pramac at the Spanish GP

Pramac Racing’s Jorge Martin will undergo surgery this afternoon at the Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona to fix the fractures to his right thumb metacarpal, right malleolus and left tibial plate, following last Saturday's huge crash in Portimao.

With Martin ruled out of action for Round 4, former MotoGP™ rider and current WorldSBK star Tito Rabat will take his compatriot's place at the Spanish GP. Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will be busy on the 29th and 30th of April as the Italian takes part in a private test for the Bologna factory at Mugello. So, in agreement with Ducati, the team have therefore decided to offer Rabat the opportunity to race at the Spanish GP in Jerez on the Desmosedici GP21.

The Catalonia-born rider was Moto2™ World Champion in 2014 and has raced in the previous three seasons in MotoGP™ with the Avintia Esponsorama Racing Ducati team, so he knows both the bike and the Michelin tyes very well.
