Quartararo tops FP4 as the rain wreaks havoc for race prep

One minute the sun is shining, the next the rain is falling as Le Mans' weather caused chaos for the MotoGP™ grid

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Fabio Quartararo clinched top spot during FP4 at the SHARK Grand Prix of France, but Le Mans' changeable weather was once again the main talking point as race preparation went out of the window. The rain stopped and started countless times during the session, with the premier class field managing to squeeze a string of laps together on a moderately dry track.

Home hero Quartararo put down the best of those flying laps, with Team Suzuki Ecstar's Alex Rins and Petronas Yamaha SRT's not far behind in second and third. Completing the top five were Repsol Honda duo Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez but FP4 wasn't without trouble for the Spanish pair. Espargaro crashed out at Turn 3 and then Marquez at Turn 9 inside 30 seconds, both fortunately walking away unscathed.
