Augusto Fernandez heads an Elf Marc VDS Racing Team 1-2 on Friday morning at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya as the Spaniard and teammate Sam Lowes end FP1 separated by 0.150s. Fernandez’s 1:43.703 was enough to beat World Championship leader Remy Gardner (Red Bull KTM Ajo) by 0.153s as the Australian finished third in the opening Free Practice session.

Raul Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo), second in the World Championship, finished fourth in FP1 and sits ahead of Marco Bezzecchi (SKY Racing Team VR46) heading into FP2 this afternoon.
The intermediate class will head back out on track at 15:10 local time (GMT+2) on Friday.
