AndrewZh tops first two qualifying sessions in Global Series

The Global Series Round 1 is underway with the 11 finalists taking part in highly competitive qualifying sessions at Portimao and Mugello

The 2021 Global Series is already up and running with the 11 finalists showing signs of their early form in two hotly disputed qualifying sessions for the first of four rounds which will decide this year’s MotoGP™ eSport Champion!

11 gamers, hailing from Australia, the UK, Indonesia, Italy and Spain, made it through the Pro Draft and Draft Selection phases and have been chosen by the MotoGP™ teams to represent them in the prestigious four-round series.

Tomorrow (Friday 11th June), the finalists will take on two races. The first is held on the fabulous Algarve International Circuit, new for this year’s eSport Championship, and the second one will be on the stunning Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello.

And it was 2019 MotoGP™ eSport Champion AndrewZh who topped both sessions, with the Italian showing plenty of the old form that carried him to glory two years ago. 2017 and 2018 MotoGP™ eSport Champ Trast73 showed that he will be a force once more, placing third for race one and second for race two.

Reigning champion Adriaan_26 has it all to do in race one after qualifying sixth, but was a strong third for race two. And new name Jack Hammer4658 showed the old guard won’t have it all their own way this year, by posting the second fastest time for race one.

Be sure to tune into the action-packed show tomorrow (Friday 11th June) at 16:00 (GMT +2), when presenters Jack Appleyard and Jack Gorst will host an hour-long show, beginning with highlights of qualifying before the 11 riders take on two races. Friday’s action will be available to watch live onmotogp.com and esport.motogp.com, on selected TV broadcasters, and across social media platforms including YouTube (via the MotoGP™ and MotoGP™ eSport channels), MotoGP™ eSport TwitterInstagram, Facebook (via MotoGP™ and MotoGP™ eSport pages) and Twitch via MotoGP™ and MotoGP™ eSport.
