Deniz Öncü suspended for next two races

The Turkish rider was deemed to have caused the serious Moto3™ crash and will sit out Emilia-Romagna & Algarve GPs

Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Deniz Öncü has been suspended from the upcoming Gran Premio Nolan del Made in Italy e dell'Emilia-Romagna and Grande Premio do Algarve weekends after the FIM MotoGP™ Stewards deemed the Turkish rider responsible for causing the serious multi-rider Moto3™ crash on Sunday in Austin.

The Stewards confirmed Öncü was found to have caused a crash by swerving into the line of another rider – in this case Jeremy Alcoba (Indonesian Gresini Racing Moto3) – on COTA’s back straight and Öncü will miss the next two rounds at Misano and in Portimao. Red Bull KTM Tech3 have not appealed the sanction imposed on Öncü and all riders caught up in the crash are ok.
