Champion Quartararo beats Ducati duo to top spot

The 2021 king kicked off the Algarve GP by going quickest from Bagnaia and Miller

2021 World Champion Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) kicked off the Grande Prémio Brembo do Algarve by setting the fastest lap in MotoGP™ FP1, the Frenchman leaving it until his last lap to edge out Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) by 0.045s. Quartararo’s 1:40.192 was good enough to beat third place Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) by 0.131s.

Team Suzuki Ecstar duo Alex Rins – who sported a phenomenal shoulder cam in FP1 – and 2020 World Champion Joan Mir completed the first top five of the weekend in Portimao, as the riders got a sunny and dry opening Free Practice session under their belts.
