Manufacturers nominate 2022 private Test circuits

Outside of the Official MotoGP™ Tests, teams can carry out private testing at three extra destinations throughout the season

Ahead of what is a well-deserved winter break, preparations for 2022 continue to take place following the conclusion of two days of testing in Jerez. The next time we’ll see MotoGP™ riders on the tarmac will be in Malaysia for the Sepang Test on the opening weekend of February, which will be swiftly followed by MotoGP™’s debut at the new Mandalika International Street Circuit in Indonesia one week later.

As always, manufacturers are afforded the opportunity to carry out further testing during the season at previously nominated tracks, the locations of which we now know.

Jerez features on all five manufacturers’ list of tracks while the three Japanese based constructors, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha, have chosen Motegi as one of their destinations. Ducati and KTM have also both selected their home circuits in Mugello and Spielberg respectively while it’s a split between Aragon and Misano for the final location. Ducati and Honda have both selected World Circuit Marco Simoncelli as their final location while KTM, Suzuki and Yamaha will have some track time at MotorLand Aragon. However, don't expect to see the full time contracted riders in action, as these dates are solely for each constructors' Test rider.

The full selection of nominated tracks is as follows:

KTM – The Red Bull Ring, Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, MotorLand Aragon
Ducati – Mugello International Circuit, Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli
Honda – Twin Ring Motegi, Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli
Suzuki – Twin Ring Motegi, Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, MotorLand Aragon
Yamaha – Twin Ring Motegi, Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, MotorLand Aragon

Aprilia don’t feature on the list as they remain the only constructor to hold concessions going into 2022, and will therefore be allowed extra testing days. You can learn more about that here!
