MotoGP™ stars Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar) and Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) were joined by Moto3™ World Champions Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and Albert Arenas (GasGas Aspar Team) at the Circuito de Almeria on Sunday as the quartet kicked-off their preparations for the new season.
The winter holidays are well and truly over now with both Rins and Martin less than a month away from the first Official Test of 2022 at the Sepang International Circuit. With that crucial two-day test and the equally crucial three-day test a week later at the brand-new Mandalika International Street Circuit looming large, the pair spent a full day lapping the Spanish circuit. Rins arrived fresh from a day of riding at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia just 24 hours prior.
Could we see these two battling it out in #MotoGP one day? ????@88jorgemartin and @37_pedroacosta have been putting in the laps at Almeria! ✊#2022Loading pic.twitter.com/A00V5FrxHq

They were joined on track by the 2021 Moto3™ World Champion Pedro Acosta, who's gearing up for his debut season in the Moto2™ class, and 2020 Moto3™ World Champion Albert Arenas. In an image that we will surely see in MotoGP™ in years to come, Acosta and Martin got a little too close from comfort as they both eyed each other up.
