Martin, Zarco and Viñales head up track day in Cartagena

Preparations for 2022 continue with a whole host of well-known names searching for some early speed in Spain

The festive fun is well and truly over as teams and riders are once again hard at work as they continue to blow off the cobwebs and ramp up pre-season preparations. A whole host of big names are in action at Circuito de Cartagena in Spain as they seek to find some January speed ahead of the Official MotoGP™ Tests next month.

Following a few intense days in Almeria, Jorge Martin is continuing to see plenty of track time in 2022 as he and Pramac Racing teammate Johann Zarco head up an impressive list of names, which also sees Aprilia’s Maverick Viñales in action.

Tech3’s Raul Fernandez completes the quartet of premier class stars in Cartagena as he prepares for his rookie MotoGP™ season. The Spaniard was joined by his younger brother and Moto3™ sophomore Adrian (Red Bull KTM Tech3), while his lightweight class rival and title frontrunner Jaume Masia (Red Bull KTM Ajo) is also present.

The intermediate class are well represented too, as reigning Moto3™ World Champion Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and former Champion Albert Arenas (Aspar Team Moto2) continue on from joining Martin in Almeria, while Aron Canet (Flexbox HP40) and Fermin Aldeguer (Speed Up) join their Moto2™ colleagues.
