High fives for Ducati as they seal a historic lockout

The top five on the grid in Austin, for the first time since 2003, are all riding for the same manufacturer

Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) will start from his fifth consecutive front row start after leading a Ducati 1-2-3-4-5 in qualifying at the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas. To get yourself set for race day in Austin, have a gander through some stats and facts from MotoGP™ qualifying below:

Jorge Martin, Jack Miller, Francesco Bagnaia, Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas

1. After passing through Q1, Martin has qualified on pole position for the sixth time in MotoGP™, setting a new all-time lap record at COTA.

2. With Martin, Miller, Bagnaia, Zarco and Bastianini, this is the first Ducati 1-2-3-4-5 in the premier class, and the first 1-2-3-4-5 for the same manufacturer in MotoGP™ since Honda in Motegi in 2003.

3. This is the fifth time since the current qualifying format was introduced in 2013 a rider has qualified on pole after passing through Q1, along with Martin in Austria last year, Marc Marquez (Thailand/2018), Maverick Viñales (Valencia/2018) and Francesco Bagnaia (Emilia-Romagna/2021).

6. Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™), who crashed in Q2, has qualified sixth for the second successive time after Argentina. He finished second last year at COTA and will be aiming to win for the first time since Silverstone last year.

After passing through Q1, Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), who is the only other rider than Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) who has won at COTA in MotoGP™, has qualified seventh for the second successive time. He will be aiming to finish on the podium in back-to-back races for the first time since 2020, when he did it three times in a row from the Aragon GP to Europe GP.
