Jorge Martin (Pramac Racing) and Joan Mir (Team Suzuki Ecstar) will go into the fight for MotoGP™ pole position after progressing from Q1 at the SHARK Grand Prix de France. They were first and second respectively at the end of the first runs at Le Mans, and that was the case when the session was complete too. Martin clocked a 1:30.804 in the final minute before the chequered flag on his Ducati, not long after Mir had gone to the top on a 1:30.933.
Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) came agonisingly close to making the top two, with his final lap just 0.007 seconds slower than Mir’s best. The Italian also added to the weekend’s highlights reel with a wild run through the gravel at Turn 1/Turn 2, in a carbon copy of the cross-country excursion which Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) had in Friday practice.

Bezzecchi will therefore start 13th on Sunday, with team-mate Luca Marini on the opposite side of Row 5, and Aprilia Racing’s Maverick Viñales lining up in between them. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini Racing) qualified 16th on his Ducati while Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) will be first of the KTM riders in 17th.
