Leopard Racing’s Dennis Foggia has set the fastest lap in FP3 for the Moto3™ field at the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya. The Italian is the only rider so far to get into the 1:47s, and he did it twice on his final run at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Having set second to the Valresa GASGAS Aspar Team’s Sergio Garcia before the final time attacks, Foggia wheeled his Honda to a 1:47.832 and 1:47.765 on consecutive laps to emphatically book his place in Q2 despite riding without a tow. World Championship leader Garcia was classified second by virtue of his 1:48.012 earlier in the session.

David Salvador is proving to be the super sub at Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max, claiming third with a 1:48.042 as he fills in for the injured Ayumu Sasaki. Rounding out the top five was Red Bull KTM Ajo duo Daniel Holgado and Jaume Masia, from Andrea Migno (Rivacold Snipers Team) and Lorenzo Fellon (Sic58 Squadra Corse), with Tatsuki Suzuki making it both Leopard Racing Hondas in the top eight. Izan Guevara (Valresa GASGAS Aspar Team) had dominated Friday’s action and while he could not keep that up in FP3, a 1:48.344 at the start of his second run was good enough to get into Q2 in ninth position.

Joel Kelso (CIP Green Power) was a notable in 10th given the Australian is still feeling the effects of the very unfortunate Warm Up incident he was caught up in weeks ago at Jerez, while Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Tech3) got into the second phase of qualifying in 13th position.
We now know the first 14 riders into Q2 and the battle for pole, but who will join them? Q1 starts later on Saturday at 12:35 (GMT +2).
