Red Bull KTM Ajo's Pedro Acosta has broken his left femur in a training accident on Tuesday morning, meaning the Moto3™ World Champion will miss this weekend's Motul TT Assen. The 18-year-old is set to under the surgeon's knife on Wednesday in Barcelona with the hope he can make a return at the British Grand Prix following the five-week summer break.
Acosta was just starting to make his mark in the intermediate class after clinching victory at the Italian Grand Prix and claiming second last weekend at the German Grand Prix. But the Spaniard's momentum has come to a crashing halt after an accident whilst training with his motocross bike on Tuesday.
