Quartararo awarded the French Legion of Honour

The reigning MotoGP™ World Champion received the highest French honorary decoration on 14th July, the country’s National Day

It is not just his feats aboard a MotoGP™ machine that will make 2022 a memorable year for Fabio Quartararo. The current championship leader was awarded the Legion of Honour on 14th July, France’s National Day.

The Legion of Honour is the highest French honorary decoration. He becomes the first motorcycle racer in the country’s history to receive this award after becoming France’s first ever MotoGP™ World Champion in 2021. 23-year old Quartararo has continued that championship form into 2022, and currently leads the standings after eleven races by 21 points.

The President of the French Motorcycling Federation, Sébastien Poirier, said of the achievement, “This is a date to be marked with a milestone, the echoes of this distinction will resonate forever within the national sporting landscape, it is recognition at the highest performance level of our world champion by the Nation.”
