It's Bez Or Bust in MotoGP™ Fantasy heading to Austin

The Italian tops the World Championship and the Fantasy stats as we eye the Americas Grand Prix

The future's bright, the future's Bezzecchi. That's the motto you need to carry into the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas after the Italian's sensational debut MotoGP™ win handed him not only the top spot in the title chase but also the top spot in the MotoGP™ Fantasy leaderboard. He's become a must-have following a hefty 51-point haul in Argentina but acts quick as his 2.2m price tag looks set to rise.

Gresini Racing's Alex Marquez walked away from Termas with the second-most Fantasy points with a tasty 36.5 in his back pocket. And at only 2m, he's another rider you need to be eying up. When it comes to constructors, Ducati once again lead the way with 43.75 points bagged in Argentina. Then it was Mooney VR46 Racing Team to take the top spot in the Teams' chart, but Prima Pramac Racing are still the overall leaders in that department.

OUR COTA SELECTIONS

Other than the obvious of Bezzecchi following his fine start to the season, motogp.com's experts have selected three outside bets for this weekend's Grand Prix of the Americas. First up, Jorge Martin. Don't be put off by the Prima Pramac Racing man's 2.6m price tag, it's only a matter of time before it all clicks for Martin. His performance on the opening Saturday of the year illustrated his class and the Circuit of the Americas is a place he loves. Pole position last year, victory in Moto3™ back in 2018, and surely a huge contender to take the COTA crown now that both Enea Bastianini and Marc Marquez are absent.

When it comes to the factory selection, KTM could be a wildcard selection. Huge improvements on the RC16 have allowed Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Jack Miller to compete for Sprint success in Portugal and Brad Binder to take an unforgettable Sprint win last time out. The orange pair have had success in Austin down the years, with Miller in particular taking two podiums on his last three visits to the Texan venue.

Finally, don't dismiss LCR Racing for your team selection. Honda have been struggling, there's no denying that. But both Alex Rins and Taka Nakagami made it directly into Q2 last time out to show small signs of recovery. Plus, COTA is a place both enjoy but Rins in particular has a special connection with the circuit. The Spaniard's first MotoGP™ victory was landed here in 2019 and he backed that up with a podium last year.
