After an intensive communications campaign with the collaboration of key Asian circuits, federations, motorcycle riding schools and additional partners and companies, more than 400 riders from 19 countries have applied to ride in the 2020 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup. Their applications have now been analysed by the selection committee and the shortlist of candidates invited to the selection event on the 29th and 30th October has been decided.

This season, 120 riders are invited to the event. There, each applicant must demonstrate their skills and riding ability around Sepang Karting Circuit outside Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The selection committee will then meet again to analyse all the data and determine the final riders chosen to participate in the 2020 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, as well as a list of reserve riders.
