IDEMITSU Honda LCR Team thank the #35 for his contribution this season ahead of a new adventure in 2026

IDEMITSU Honda LCR have confirmed that Somkiat Chantra will not race with them in 2026. In his rookie year, the #35 made history as the first-ever Thai rider to compete in the MotoGP category, earning his first championship points, a milestone that will forever be etched in the MotoGP record books. Despite facing two injuries that limited his ability to progress consistently, he showed determination and improvement throughout the season.

Now, he’ll begin a new adventure in WorldSBK with the Honda HRC Team. LCR thanks Chantra for his dedication and wishes him success in the next chapter of his career.

Lucio Cecchinello, IDEMITSU Honda LCR Team Principal: “Somkiat Chantra’s first year in MotoGP has not been easy due to injuries that prevented him from progressing steadily. At IDEMITSU Honda LCR, we deeply value his collaboration, his determination to keep pushing, and the fact that he managed to score points. He has made history as the first Thai rider in the premier class, and we wish him the very best for a bright and promising future with Honda HRC Team in the WorldSBK”.
