Dovizioso: "We still have room to improve"

Ducati rider fastest on Friday as the Desmosedici takes on Austria

After the recent test sessions held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg were dominated by Ducati machinery, expectation for the Borgo Panigale factory has been high going into the NeroGiardini Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich – and Friday didn’t disappoint, as veteran rider Andrea Dovizioso took the top spot in the final few minutes of the day to lead a Desmosedici 1-2 from his teammate. The Italian is satisfied with Day 1, but knows there is room to improve ahead of the race on Sunday.

Andrea Dovizioso: “I’m very satisfied with how my weekend has started, although the tyres and the weather conditions were very different to during the test in July. Despite that, we’ve been able to confirm our good performance and we’re going well – but it’s not enough because we still have room to improve ahead of the race. It’s certain though, with this speed, that we can use the two sessions tomorrow to look for the best race pace.”
