Compatriot Juanfran Guevara (RBA Racing Team) was second quickest, ahead of another title hope Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing Moto3), as track action got underway in mild, dry conditions in Aragon.
EG0,0 rookie Aron Canet was P4, with second RBA Racing Team rider Gabriel Rodrigo completing the top five. Jorge Martin (Gaviota Mahindra Aspar) had a good first session on a comeback from injury in P6, with Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold), Fabio Quartararo (Leopard Racing), Bo Bendsneyder (Red Bull KTM Ajo) and second Leopard Racing rider Andrea Locatelli completing the top ten.
