Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS rider Franco Morbidelli was fastest in morning Warm Up ahead of the Moto2™ race at MotorLand Aragon, with championship leader Johann Zarco (Ajo Motorsport) second and polesitter Sam Lowes (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) completing the top three.
Jonas Folger (Dynavolt Intact GP) was fourth, ahead of Tom Luthi (Garage Plus Interwetten) and Idemitsu Honda Team Asia's Takaaki Nakagami. Sandro Cortese (Dynavolt Intact GP) was P7, ahead of a strong session for Speed Up Racing's Simone Corsi. Axel Pons (AGR Team) and Jesko Raffin (Sports-Millions-EMWE-SAG).
Title contender Alex Rins (Paginas Amarillas HP 40), who starts from P13, was twelfth quickest, as front row starter Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) suffered a crash early on and remained in P16 on the timesheets.
