Marquez: “Good race rhythm!”

The only other man in the 1:29s feels race ready for the season finale

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) qualified P2 for the Valencia GP, but the reigning World Champion feels good about his pace over race distance. Rival Jorge Lorenzo’s (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) pole lap saw him first into the 1:29 bracket, and Marquez proved the only other rider to achieve that – also making him the only other rider to get inside Lorenzo’s 2015 lap record. With the Championship done, Marquez’ focus is solely on winning the final race of the year – and he’ll be back on his number one machine on Sunday: the one on which he found a better feeling before crashing in FP4 and taking it out of action for QP.

Marc Marquez (P2): “Today I tried really hard to be on pole but there was a rider faster than me - Lorenzo. I knew it would be hard to be on pole because the Yamaha is so fast here over one lap. But I feel good about my race rhythm. I was angry I crashed in FP4 because I knew I couldn’t use the number one bike for qualifying! Tomorrow in the race, we’ll use that bike, the number one bike, and I feel better with it.”
