Top 10 in four tenths in FP3 - and Dovizioso heads for Q1

The Italian is joined by Zarco in Qualifying 1 as it tightens up on Saturday

A flurry of final fast laps came in at the end of FP3 as the grid jostled for direct entry to Q2, with sunny skies above the Sachsenring allowing the Pramac Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland to get down to business on Saturday morning and the times remaining incredibly tight. Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) topped the session with a late lap, ahead of Danilo Petrucci (Alma Pramac Racing) and Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda Castrol) – with Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) and Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) two big names who didn’t make it through. They’ll be heading for Q1 qualifying from 14:10 (GMT +2).

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) made a big leap up the timesheets to go fourth fastest, ahead of a stunner for Alvaro Bautista (Angel Nieto Team), who completed the top five. Reiging Champion and eight-in-a-row winner at the track Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was sixth and didn’t unleash the red sectors as expected, with Maverick Viñales (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) slotting into P7.

Friday’s fastest Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) was eighth quickest ahead of key improver Alex Rins (Team Suzuki Ecstar), with Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) another man who made a big move up the timesheets on Saturday to complete the top ten.
