EG 0,0 Marc VDS have announced that title challenger Alex Marquez will be remaining in the intermediate class outfit in 2019. Marquez, who won the 2012 FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ crown with the outfit and then the 2014 Moto3™ World Championship, will therefore be taking on a big change in Moto2™ as technical regulations change and Triumph enter the Championship as the new engine supplier for the class.

“I’m happy to announce my renewal with EG 0,0 Marc VDS,” says Marquez. “I want to thank the team for their confidence in a project that we all believe in, and in a year that will see big technical changes and innovations – something I think will help me to continue growing as a rider and help me to prepare myself for one of my key objectives: moving up to MotoGP. I’m really motivated to be part of this project and we’ll fight as hard as we can to become Moto2 World Champions.”
“I’m happy to make it official that we’ve come to an agreement with Alex Marquez to continue in the team next season,” adds Marc van der Straten. “We want Alex to remain our benchmark and the rider with whom we’ll fight for the Moto2 World Championship, as we are doing this year. Alex has shown he has the potential and talent to be at the front, fighting for wins and getting on the podium. With this renewal we continue a project, along with Estrella Galicia 0,0, that gives riders the chance to develop their sporting career in an atmosphere that’s familial and human, but at the same time at professional and highly competitive.”
