CIP - Green Power launches 2019 team in Italy

Darryn Binder and Tom Booth-Amos gathered in Pesaro on Friday 1st February

After a 2018 season that included two podiums, the CIP – Green Power Team went to Italy to officially launch their 2019 Moto3™ bikes. The presentation took place on 1st February in the headquarters of Green Power Company in Pesaro, Italy. This season will be a learning phase for the British rookie Tom Booth-Amos, while Darryn Binder will start his fifth season in Grand Prix.

The French team from Alès, France, will continue with KTM and their main sponsor Green Power (Epta group societies’) extends its partnership for the new season. The company is the leader in the generator’s international market and is joined by Unicom Starker, a society specialised in the selling of ceramic material of premium quality. Those major partnerships are very strong support for the team to perform throughout the year.

Binder is one of the new recruits of the CIP – Green Power Team for the 2019 season. Aged 21, he has raced in the Grand Prix paddock since 2015. After finishing 17th place in the overall standings in 2018, while picking up a third place at the Japanese GP, the South African really wants to continue on this path and to add more podiums to his list. His knowledge of the category and the bike will be a strong argument for him to fight in the leading group, with the aim to be in the top five of the Championship at the end of the season.

Booth-Amos is one of the nine rookies taking part in the 2019 Moto3™ World Championship. The 2017 British Motostar Champion had the opportunity to compete during the 2017 British Grand Prix as a wildcard, which allowed him to get a taste of the high level of the category for the first time. His 2018 season in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3™ World Championship was interrupted by injuries. Now, Booth-Amos can’t wait to discover the Moto3™ World Championship and to display what he can do across an entire season.

The first private tests will take place in Valencia on 6th and 7th February 2019.
