気温２０度。路面温度３１度のドライコンディションの中、前戦スペインＧＰでハードクラッシュを喫したフリー走行１で５番手のレミー・ガードナーは、０.０４９秒差の２番手。フリー走行１で９番手のロレンソォ・バルダッサーリは、０.１１７秒差の３番手に浮上。
フリー走行１で１７番手のアウグスト・フェルナンデェスは４番手。フリー走行１で７番手のマッティア・パシーニは５番手。
フリー走行１で２番手のマルセル・シュロッターは６番手に後退すれば、キャリアで初めて１番手発進を決めたアンドレア・ロカテッリは、今季４度目の転倒を喫して７番手。フリー走行１で４番手のサム・ロウズは、今季４度目の転倒を喫して１５番手。フリー走行１で８番手のトーマス・ルティは１６番手。
フリー走行１で１９番手の長島哲太は、今季２度目の転倒を喫して、１.１０２秒差の２１番手に後退した。
