Countdown is on: Viñales warms up for Round 1 in Jerez

Factory Yamaha man was joined by Moto2™ riders Augusto Fernandez and Marcos Ramirez, plus Moto3™ front runner Alonso Lopez, for a track day

With less than a month to go before MotoGP™ is back in action at the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto, Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP's Maverick Viñales continued his preparations for the opening round of the 2020 World Championship by completing a day at the Andalusian circuit over the weekend. The venue for the opening two rounds of this year's premier class title challenge, Viñales got in some valuable laps onboard a Yamaha R1-M.

The MotoGP™ front runner was joined by some promising talents from the Moto2™ and Moto3™ classes. EG 0,0 Marc VDS' Augusto Fernandez and American Racing Team's Marcos Ramirez were also present, both riding Yamaha R6 machines, plus Sterilgarda Max Racing Team's Alonso Lopez got some laps in too.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Pol Espargaro and Brad Binder, Red Bull KTM Tech 3's Miguel Oliveira and Iker Lecuona and Aprilia Racing Team Gresini's Aleix Espargaro all kick-off a three-day test at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Tuesday, meaning that the countdown for MotoGP™'s long-awaited return is well and truly on.
