Petronas Sepang Racing Team will unveil their 2021 MotoGP™ challengers and officially present its teams for this season in a virtual launch on March 1, at 10.30am CET, broadcast live and free on motogp.com.
The presentation will finally give racing fans an exclusive first look at nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi in the Petronas colours, as the Italian is set to launch the latest chapter in his storied career with the Malaysian outfit. With an incredible 89 wins and 199 podiums in his premier class career, The Doctor brings no shortage of experience to Petronas SRT as they look to increase their standing in MotoGP™.
Joining Rossi on centre stage is his VR46 Academy Graduate and current 2020 MotoGP™ World Championship runner-up Franco Morbidelli. Having been a member of the premier-class team since its inception in 2019, Morbidelli will be among the front runners vying for title glory this season and the duo will take the covers off their Yamaha YZR-M1 machines to reveal the 2021 livery.
In addition to this, Petronas Sprinta Racing’s Moto2™ representatives Xavi Vierge and Jake Dixon, plus Moto3™ contenders John McPhee and Darryn Binder, will also be present during the virtual launch.
Having only been part of the premier class for two years, the Malaysian squad has already shown that they are a force to be reckoned within the MotoGP™ paddock, frequently challenging the established order. Their impressive Petronas Yamaha Sepang Racing Team stats include back-to-back Independent Team and Independent Team Rider titles, 6 victories, 15 podiums and 12 pole positions.
